Hey friends,

370 people subscribe to this newsletter and I just want to say thanks to all of you 🙏

The reality of this particular newsletter is that I’d likely still write it if there were just ten people reading, so I’m very grateful.

What I’ve realized after 8+ years of creating on the internet is that not all projects have to take your full attention or need to get mass attention to be valuable. I write this newsletter in an hour or two (or 3 or 4 😭 ) on Sunday mornings, taking a look back at my week, and sharing a few things. I’m working on a number of projects now, and this isn’t exactly the top priority - that’s okay.

Anyways, if you haven’t subscribed and are interested, subscribe below. Onward.

Changing How You Think About Life

I found this gem of a tweet this week:

Jason gathered the illustrations from one of my favorite sites, waitbutwhy, and they’re worth checking out (Click the tweet above to see all illustrations).

One of my favorites:

The Best Mental Health Advice

Some of my favorites from the replies:

  • “Mine was that all emotions are valid. That to heal I need to feel emotions. That I don't need to use productivity to numb myself.” - Dr. Marina Harris, Ph.D.

  • "You do not have enough information to panic about that yet." - Claire Willett

  • "Someone else's poor planning is not your crisis." - Dr. Amy Marschall, Psy.D.

  • “Be careful with the word ‘should’ because you’ll ‘should’ all over yourself.” - Brian J Dixon MD

Building a World-Class Network Online

There are nearly 5 billion internet users worldwide, meaning you’re one email, Twitter DM, or LinkedIn message away from connecting with 60% of the world’s population.

In the internet age, with that level of connectivity, building a world-class network, filled with smart, interesting people from around the world, is not only possible but easier than you might think.

But wait, why would you care about building a world-class network?

A myriad of reasons:

  • Discovering jobs

  • Finding co-founders

  • Getting investors

  • Locating customers

  • Accelerating your learning

It’s obviously worthwhile.

For me, building a world-class network has had tangible results, leading to me joining Vitalize, allowing me to invest in a former podcast guest’s company, and getting equity in a previous startup I joined.

The best way I’ve found to build a world-class network online? Podcasting.

This is why I want to teach people how to build a world-class network through this amazing medium.

I launched my podcasting course recently, had my first couple of students enroll, and am so excited to work with others to help them use a podcast to build meaningful relationships.

Quick Updates

That’s it, friends! Enjoy the Super Bowl… and the commercials 😉
