Behind the Scenes of a Viral Tweet
So, this tweet of mine went viral this week:
Here are the numbers as of today, February 6th:
Since that Tweet, I went from 3,829 followers to 4,408 followers - a 15% increase in 3 days, which blows my mind.
Why did it go viral?
A few reasons:
Engagement. Naturally, people engaged wanting to not only find potential investments, but showcase themselves in front of investors.
Relationships built on Twitter. Shortly after posting the tweet, I tagged a few prominent early-stage investors with large audiences, many of which retweeted the original tweet. Why? My guess is because I’ve worked to build relationships with them over months and it also benefitted them to do so.
Luck. More at-bats, more potential for virality. Post enough and you’ll eventually get a tweet to go gain significant traction.

The Private Launch of Podcast Playbook
My podcasting course on how to Build Relationships with Founders, CEOs, and Executives Through Podcasting is now open for enrollment!
After 3.5 years of podcasting and all that I’ve gained from starting my show, it’s time to teach others how to use this incredible medium to the fullest.
The course has gone through a number of iterations, but I’m elated about where it’s at now.
On Tuesday, I’ll publicly announce it on social media and am letting everyone on my email list know about it today, as enrollment for the first cohort will be limited.

I graduated from the Maven Course Accelerator on Thursday and loved the entire experience - can’t recommend them enough
This week I’m doing an AMA on Twitter Spaces with Gale Wilkinson, General Partner at Vitalize
I was interviewed for an episode of Content is for Closers which will be released soon
I’ve been going on more afternoon walks around the neighborhood and find the activity to be such an easy way to “reset” each day
